Over 500 kids plus parents and friends showed up for the ASELSI Christmas party.

After a time of relevant teaching about parenting for the adults and a story and craft about giving themselves and their best to Jesus, the party finished off with a clear presentation of the Gospel.

We gave out backpacks with school supplies to help the kids as they begin classes in January along with bags of food to help with their family needs right now.

This annual event lets us connect with local children, provide for a big need and involve volunteers from a variety of churches from across the area.

Thanks to donors like you, we were able to provide these backpacks, food, and present the Gospel to hundreds of families in Chichicastenango!

I was losing my visión when I first came to ASELSI. I was here to get surgery, but, during the evaluation, the medical staff discovered that I had high blood pressure.

I didn’t know anything about that because I’d never visited a doctor before. I didn’t know what high blood pressure meant, but they told me it could be life-threatening if we didn't do something

The ASELSI Clinic explained about this disease and gave me treatment. After the surgery on my eyes, the Father’s Heart Clinic has continued helping me with medicine and checkups.

Now I have a normal life and I can work and earn money for my family.

Thanks to ASELSI and the help they gave me I have a healthy life and have my visión back!

Join ASELSI for #GivingTuesday -- a global giving movement – on November 27.

In America Thanksgiving Day is a time to give thanks to God for His provision and blessings, but many times this thankfulness soon gets lost in the rush of special sales that kick off the Christmas shopping season.

That’s where Giving Tuesday comes in! It’s the 1st Tuesday after Thanksgiving and helps us all focus on how we can give back to help others, either through financial donations or by giving our time or talents to help others.

All year long, ASELSI is reaching out to help the poor, sick, disabled, blind, and train leaders who impact their communities for good. On December 6th we have a special event to tell the story of Christ’s coming and celebrate Christmas with hundreds of children while providing them with school supplies that will help them stay in school when the new school year starts in January 2019.

We are thankful that people just like you help make this and many other outreaches possible by sharing your time, talents and treasure with us. Please consider a donation to help us continue reaching out to train leaders and care for the sick and suffering.

On Saturday, October 20, over 150 leaders of youth and children’s ministries gathered at ASELSI for a day of training, encouragement and new ideas for sharing old truths.

Check out the video above to see what it was like!

With four challenging speakers focused on the areas of youth and children’s ministries those who attended received current information on how to continue reaching the new generation with the Christ.

“Everything was very focused on the church--on the importance of the church to be relevant to the next generation,” ASELSI Director Emanuel Perez said of the conference. “We are very excited because we see that God continues allowing us to equip the people to empower them to enable them…to share with the church in Guatemala.”

The Relevant Conference is part of ASELSI’s efforts to equip leaders with the understanding, tools and encouragement they need to transform lives with the Word of God. The annual conference is held on October 20 each year.

I was born prematurely and my father abandoned my mother and I because he saw that I wasn’t normal.

My mommy worked hard to care for me and she brought me to ASELSI where I get physical therapy.

At one point my mother was very depressed because we didn’t have money to survive and we were completely alone.

We came to a medical appointment that changed our lives. At the appointment the clinic staff prayed for us. My mommy was so depressed at that point that she was ready to abandon me, but after being encouraged at ASELSI she left with the desire to keep going, and she did.

Now, I am improving and I am studying at a public school with my mom at my side to help me. I now have the best grades in my school!
