In 1993 the Harvey’s left the United States to answer the call on their hearts to be missionaries. In 1995, the Harveys began developing courses for leaders in the mountains of Guatemala.
In the year 2000 John and Sharon Harvey founded the ministry of ASELSI to be a center of spiritual training and physical care for the sick and needy where Guatemalans would learn, grow, and put into practice the principles of God’s Word that would transform their lives.
2000-2014 John and Sharon poured their lives into training pastors, helping the sick and needy, loving mothers and children, and building up the future leaders who would carry on the vision they started.
2014 The Harvey’s returned to the States, after passing the baton of leadership to Emanuel and Jessica Perez. The Harvey’s years of love, training, and care for the people of Guatemala left a legacy that continues under Guatemalan leaders. These new leaders carry on the vision to equip more saints to do the work of the ministry and bring God’s Word to pastors, communities, and families who care for the poor, weak, and sick and bring the hope of Christ to the nations.
